United Arab Emirates

Dubai best known for its ultra-modern buildings, besides that we recommend visiting the old city of Deira with its large gold market. In Abu Dhabi the main attraction is the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. It is grand enough to house 41,000 worshippers at once.

Metro and taxi are the best modes of transport. Halal food and mosques are available everywhere in the country.

There are around 50,000 Somalis living and working in the UAE. Many have their business in Deira, the old town of Dubai.

The most popular hotel options are either on the beach or in the vicinity of one of the many mega shopping malls. For more affordable options look for hotels in Deira. This has the added benefit of being very near to the Dubai International Airport (DXB).

For night life Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Residence (esp. the Walk) and the Dubai Mall are the most popular areas.
